the end of week three

let's recap shall we?

no suffering, no crying, no deprivation or social outcastedness. no starvation. no crazy diet pills or shakes or voodoo chanting.

and i'm down a total of 8.2 lbs.

i want to be excited, i do. but in the face of needing to lose at least ten times this much...i'm still daunted.

and it's not easy to stay excited when other members at the meeting are talking about how they haven't been losing, even though they admit that they're not staying on plan. last night there were two women who had joined on the very same day. one has lost over 70lbs. the other has lost on ly 12lbs. i guess my fear is...who's to say which one i'll be? sure things are going really well now, but they can't stay this easy, can they? i'm bound to hit a patch of major temptation and no motivation, right? eventually, i won't wake up and crave a two mile run. what then? will i become the twelve-pounder? how can i make sure to be the seventy-pounder?

even in the face of great success, i assume failure is immenant. why is that?
