112

just trying to be a little creative.... :)

111

perfect afternoon

110

go ahead and notice how absolutely flawless the dress is. blue collared shirt dress, cuffed sleeves, empire waist...i can't get enough of it.

109

this is ryan. it's his birthday. ryan makes THE MOST DELICIOUS MEAT OF THE UNIVERSE. no kidding. my best friend took me out for a sixty dollar steak for my birthday a few years ago, and i spent the ENTIRE time thinking "this is just nowhere near as fantastic as ryan's."

we're going to hawaii in a few weeks with several friends, including ryan. we've planned our menu to include a daily dose of steak.

this is ryan making us his amazing beef for his own birthday party. the most important thing to know is that the meat was safely off the grill when the fire started. so everything worked out okay. it helped that ryan keeps a fire extinguisher close by at all times. it also helps that my camera was already in my hand. i'm really very pleased about the photo.

108

it's turning out to be a lovely combination of things...delicious weather, a curious toddler, a camera at the ready....we're having a fun spring!

107

this is easily the most amazing picture i've ever taken. my friend steph, moments before slipping into her wedding dress and tying the knot.

106

this is my best friend of the world. he's the only human still in my life who knew me before college. although this photo is mildly horrific, he's actually fantastically attractive, always smells great, and buys kaia the cutest clothes she owns. i can't imagine life wihtout him.

105

downtown portland rally to celebrate the blazers making it to the playoffs. it was so crowded! kaia loved clapping along everytime a player was introduced.

104

THIS is what it takes to make dinner for 36 people. ten pounds of ground beef, three large bottles of bbq sauce, a five pound bag of shredded cheddar and an entire costco sized box of bisquick. and also eight hours.

103

i didn't realize until much later that this looks a lot like the morton salt girl. so cute!

102

someone? please? what is the purpose of a tank sized mug on a porch? hey, i LOVE coffee, but....huh?

101

*does not require explanation!

100

the easter egg hunting was the greatest thing ever. she was seven or eight eggs in before she realized they OPEN and contain treats!! she brought all the empty eggs home in the basket, and will occasionally walk around the house putting them places, then go back around gathering them up. it's adorable!!

99

took the girl to chuck e cheese for the first time with some great friends of ours in spokane. it was actually really fun. i remember that place being really dark and creepy. this one was really brightly lit, tiny kid friendly and fairly affordable (one token per game/ride!)

98

took a trip to the mister's folk's place for easter weekend. it's always fun being there with kaia. we made strawberry shortcake, and let kaia get a few tastes of the fat free cool whip (i'm pretty intense against her having added sugars and "junk" food...) well she sure takes after her junkfood loving dad....this is how they both reacted about the treat. no kidding.

97

i'll admit it, i refuse to participate in the twilight craze. we've talked about this, right? how i can't stand to join in on the thing EVERYONE is nuts about? how i basically feel like everything deserves to have someone NOT enjoy it? so i won't read it, i surely won't see the film.
so when i saw this, i made a VERY audible "ughhh" and pulled out the camera. because, really, REALLY?! it's SO important that you've designed a sticker for your car to inform the world that you've got nothing better to do then spent loads of time on a website talking about a fictional set of characters?! really?
(also, just because i've eaten my foot a few times lately, no offense intended to people who may love this particular website, or recently had edward's face tatooed on your booty.) (okay, some offense, but none that should be painful, okay?)

96

i couldn't afford to buy it, so i went ahead and swallowed my pride pill, and took a picture of the picture. because, doy, look at it!

95

this is pretty great. i went to a small, private christian college. every year, "chinook court" was held to identify and honor the women on campus who were considerd to be the spiritual leaders. the college is closing it's doors permanently next weekend following graduation, and closing ceremonies of all kinds have been taking place in the months since that was announced. all members of previous chinook courts were invited to participate in this, the final court. although many of the princesses and queens from past courts were unable to attend, it was a really beautiful thing to have so many of us in one place. i just really see that this picture represents a zillion things, more than i can wrap my mind around.

94

this is what i call "chicken soup" for the mommy's soul.

93

this is the picture of fury. let me explain. yet ANOTHER trip to the ER. only this time, as my baby is fighting for air, it takes them two hours TWO HOURS to get us back. another THIRTY MINUTES to be seen. i said to them "we're here for exactly this ALL THE TIME. they ALWAYS start with albuterol. i HAVE albuterol IN MY PURSE RIGHT NOW, WITH THE NEBULIZER. CAN I PLEASE JUST GIVE IT TO HER WHILE WE WAIT?!?!?!" (the little black case kaia's holding is the nebulizer kit) to which they replied that i surely could NOT because of some stupid liability law and blah blah blah. i literally said to them "i own her. why on earth can i not help her if you won't?!" another thirty minutes of NOTHING except her gasping for air and me becoming increasingly furious and panicked, and you know what they did? that's right. an effing dose of albuterol. and then sent us on our way.

nearly four hours, a one dollar dose of meds i HAD IN MY PURSE and we'll be paying upwards of 500 smackers. i'm aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaangry. kwim?

92

we turned our garage into a playroom, because i'm brilliant, and i found THIS INCREDIBLE TINY BENCH at a thrift store for FIVE BUCKS!!!

91

every day for four years i saw this sign...on the corner of the street where i went to college. and i've never stopped thinking "ewwww." and also....is this GOOD advertising???

90-waaaaaaaay behind!!

oh friends...how did i let this happen?!?! and now, i'll be sitting here a few hours until i'm caught up, cause i can't bear to only catch up a little......here we go!

this is my friend rachel finishing a HALF MARATHON!!!! i was soooooo proud! and also ashamed, because she started running because I had started running...and now she's still running, and it's been months for me! ugh.

happy easter!

I'm a week behind, but i'm dropping this off for you until i've got time tomorrow to get the rest up. enjoy your eggs!!

89

THIS gorgeous thing (technically a cd/dvd cabinet...but just shelves, so the possibilities are endless) was posted FOR FREE on craigslist and i was like WHAT?!?!?! and i was so thrilled about it that i started feeling guilty and very nearly made her take some of my money. then i remembered that i like to keep my money and the free thing was all her idea anyway, but i did leave her with a VERY SINCERE "have a great weekend!"

88

tv is horrible for kids. i get it. but THIS is soooo cute!

87

this is daphne grace, 7 week old sweetness belonging to my friend tina. they came over to visit us and the new mommy, bless her heart, forgot to bring daphne's diapers. so this is daphne in kaia's size 4 diaper. so silly!

86

the bathroom was steamed up and i was wondering how that would turn out in a photo. i quite like it.
p.s feel free to be jealous of my bathroom...it's painted like a victoria's secret bag. that was my bright idea when i was six months pregnant, and i did it alone. it was hard. and not the most brilliant thing to do that far along. but i'm in love with it.

85

for one moment in time, i was at the top, and a sweet load of cash was in my hands. now i'm locked in at 2nd place. ugh.

84

it made perfect sense at the time.

83

don't get me wrong, it's taken me YEARS to get this...and i had LOTS of help from friends...but i am so thrilled it's finally full!

82

she married my best friend, and i was terrified. and now, i couldn't live without her!
